Our client came to us prior to the commencement of a large refurbishment project on their South Bucks home. They needed a shaded area but with the proviso that at some stage at a later date we would dismantle the structure and then re-instal after completion of extensive garden landscaping and building of an Orangery.
The house is located on a windy ridge, with the terrace facing the prevailing wind, and whilst shade sails were considered the client decided to go for a Markilux 110 pergola awning. This awning has a Class 3 wind rating (Beaufort 6 – strong breeze), the design incorporates front posts and side arms. The design ensures that minimal stress is applied to the back fixing wall as the turning moment is virtually nil due to the relationship between the awning, side arms and posts.
Full remote control operation allows fingertip Open & Closing of the awning which is not possible with a tensioned shade sail.
To complete the comfortable enjoyment of the alfresco scene into the evening and autumn the client ordered a full remote control dimmable Markilux Hotspot heat & light fitting, with 2 x 1500 watt infra red heaters and 4 x 20 watt spot lights.
From first making contact with Sherlock and Watson T/A Alfresco365 with an enquiry re an awning to final installation has been a hassle free and seamless process. They really know their products and we are very pleased with the quality, performance and look of the awning. We would recommend them without hesitation.HOME OWNER, SOUTH BUCKS
