Our conservatory sail blinds can be designed to fit all types of glass structures and in this case our customer has a large glass retracting roof. Our central London customer found us via our website and we visited their modern style architect designed home with a view to creating a stylish installation offering solar protection, shading, with acoustic enhancement and increased privacy.
We agreed a simple design giving symmetry and excellent coverage of the space whilst maintaining an open view. The effect of the solar shade sails is stunning, complimenting the design of the building and providing all the required benefits.
We used Solar Control ISX stretch fabric for this conservatory sail blind installation. ISX fabric has been developed specifically for shading internal glass strucutres. ISX has a dense fabric strucure, most of the sun’s energy is reflected as heat. Approximately 25% of the the light is refracted through the layers of fibres which constiutute the fabric. These fibres diffuse and filter sunlight, bathing the space below in cool diffused light.
The fabric also creates Acoustic Enhancement. Hard sound reflective surfaces such as glass, concrete, and wood cause speech sounds to overlap. Low tension levels in our ISX stretch fabric sails can be used to reduce the sound reflected off the hard surfaces, softening the space and preventing echo. Acoustic enhancement benefits in glazed public spaces such as Hospital/Office/Sales reception or Community areas means an improved environment and happier users.
